Online Ordering Policies

I saw an instrument in your inventory that I would like to receive more information on, how can I contact a sales rep?

The best way to contact us is via e-mail, however we are a "real store" and have regular business hours.  We can provide you with an in-hand description either by phone or e-mail.
You can call us at 732.462.1630 or send an e-mail to:bobordeaux@yahoo.com
We maintain a picture file for each guitar with additional detailed pictures, if you send us an e-mail we can send you these great pictures!

How do I order an instrument?

Usually we conduct the ordering process over the phone, however we have done it through e-mail as well.  Please give us a call and we can walk you through the ordering process.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard and bank wire transfers.

What if I get the instrument and it is not right for me?

As most credible guitar dealers offer, we offer a 48 hour approval period.  This means that you have 2 days from the time of delivery to play, inspect, show your tech, show your friends, etc. your new purchase.  If you love your purchase and wish to keep it, GREAT!  Just let us know and we will process your transaction.

If you don't think the instrument is right for you, that is OK too.  The first thing you have to do is contact us, either by phone or e-mail letting us know that you will be returning your purchase.  You only have 48 hours!  You must let us know within that time frame, no exceptions unless arrangements were made before the purchase was made.  Then you are responsible for paying all shipping charges (to you and from you).  We prefer that you ship it back to us in the same manner we shipped it to you.  For example, if we sent a guitar to you UPS Express (1-2 days), please send it back through a comparable shipping service.

The instrument MUST be in the same condition as it was when we sent it to you.  We have detailed pictures of every instrument when it leaves our store.  If the instrument is in anyway modified, cracked, damaged, shows signs of any wear that was not present before, etc. then the instrument will not be accepted and fees will be charged to the customer depending on the severity of the condition.

By ordering a guitar from 9 South Guitars, I understand that I am bound to these terms.

What shipping companies do you use?

We normally ship via UPS.  We can ship using US Postal Service and Federal Express.  We ship both domestically and internationally.

Do you insure the instruments?

Whenever we ship an instrument, we insure it for the total purchase price of the instrument.  Total insurance coverage is included in any shipping quote you receive from us.

What happens if my purchase is damaged when I receive it?

First, stop and call us immediately.  DO NOT throw anything away (ie: packing material, the box, etc).  If you have a digital camera, take pictures of the box, the case (if the guitar came with one) and any other materials you think may be of interest.  Then send us the pictures.  Usually, as the sender we must start a damage claim with the shipping carrier.  DO NOT give an instrument to a shipping inspector unless you notify us first.  We will work with you and the shipping carrier to make arrangements for inspections and the filing of the claim.

Unfortunately, IF our damage claim is approved, it does take some time to receive a full or partial refund, so we cannot guarantee your money back immediately, but rest assured that if a damage claim is approved, you will receive your refund as soon as possible.

What is your amplifier policy?

Because of so many problems we have experienced when shipping amplifiers, we WILL NOT accept returns on amplifiers.  The 48 hour approval policy is not extended to amplifiers.  All amplifier sales are final.  We send our amplifiers out to be professionally packed and we will do everything in our power to make sure they are secure for transporting, but we do not guarantee them.

What is your used guitar parts policy?

We will not take returns on instrument parts (ie: pickups, pots, switches, etc).
